- One million contracts to be settled via powercloud in future
- New products and innovative customer processes in focus
- Modular, service-oriented architecture meets requirements
(powercloud, Offenburg, March 8, 2021) Last January, SachsenEnergie emerged as the largest municipal energy utility in eastern Germany as a result of the merger of DREWAG-Stadtwerke Dresden GmbH and ENSO Energie Sachsen Ost AG. The new company supplies some 600,000 customers dependably with energy, water, energy-related services and modern infrastructure. As Germany’s fourth-largest municipal utility, the company is also taking a step ahead in technological terms, modernizing its economic core processes with the aid of powercloud. This is a continuation of a forward-looking trend: more and more municipal utilities are using the cloud-based solution offered by powercloud – as already have many major utilities. SachsenEnergie will thus provide and bill many of its services via powercloud in future.
We are impressed with the powercloud solution. In future we will be able to offer new products even faster, accelerate innovative, customer-oriented processes and at the same time press ahead with the digital transformation of the entire company. For these tasks, powercloud is an ideal partner. We can profit from the modular SaaS solution, while in future we will save considerable outlay in future in the standardized processes of the energy industry.
Dr. Frank Brinkmann, CEO of SachsenEnergie
In the past, regional utilities were reserved about modernizing their billing systems. One stumbling block to such modernization was their existing IT systems, which were rigid, inflexible and could only be modified with great financial outlay. The establishment of powercloud in the utilities market changes this, however, since powercloud offers a transparent licensing model based on the number of active end customer contracts and with no hidden costs. As the motto runs, “Only pay for what you use”.
Over 200 customers are already using the powercloud platform to manage some 8 million contracts involving a turnover of over 6 billion euros in settlements. “Regional and municipal utilities in particular are becoming increasingly important to us, since they bring with them all the requirements for the energy market of the future,” says Marco Beicht, founder and CEO of powercloud GmbH. “There is thus a differentiated product portfolio in place, for example, which includes both the traditional energy offering and also regional offerings and services. But it will be vital in future that these can be easily bundled, marketed and charged for. And that’s exactly what powercloud is designed to enable. We look forward very much to working with SachsenEnergie.”
