(powercloud, Offenburg 12/3/2020) Boosting the digitization of Italian utilities as quickly as possible: This is the main goal of a new partnership between Acus and powercloud , an Italian-based specialist in technologies and processes for the electric, gas and water utilities. The respective partners’ expertise fits together perfectly and, together with customers. First projects are already being implemented.
A revolution is underway in the energy industry: Energy transition and digitization require completely new business models, and start-ups are ramping up the competition. Both of these factors also apply to the Italian energy market, which is very interesting for powercloud: The German digitization specialists provide a cloud-based platform that is used by utilities as their core operating system. Fully automated processes account for massive cost reductions of up to 75 percent. In addition, existing legacy systems can be easily migrated in just a few weeks. Last year, for example, powercloud carried out the largest migration from SAP IS-U to their cloud-based solution in Europe with approximately 4 million customers.
“We want to bring these enormous advantages to the Italian market immediately,” explains Marco Beicht, CEO of powercloud. “That’s why we are always looking for partners in our markets who know the requirements of the utilities very well and already cooperate with important players in the industry. Both partners have the main objective to further accelerate the digitization of the Italian utilities’ industry and thus improve their market position. “Many Italian utilities use outdated software systems; cost-to-serve is far too high. This threatens their competitiveness. Together, we want to help our customers develop a sustainable strategy to the digital future,” sums up Acus co-founder Giordano Pinarello.
